CMK 1/72 USAF Pilots – Korean War

As I’m on a bit of a phase of building up a stash to represent the Korean war, a quick review of CMK 1/72 USAF Pilots – Korean War figures.

The CMK set includes 3 USAF pilot figures in a grey coloured resin. Plus a very simple painting guide. I would suggest looking for other reference sources to supplement this painting guide. Air War Korea 1950-1953 by Robert Jackson, has some very good colour photos, if you can find a copy.

The detail on each figure looks amazing, especially when you consider these figures are only about 28mm (1 inch tall). They will certainly need special care to remove them from their casting blocks.

So lets take a look at each pilot individually.

As you can see from the photo, some excellent detail on the pilots head. I’ve not done much work with resin, so I’m going to have to be extra careful removing him from his casting blocks.

Pilot 2, will probably be the first one that I attempt to build and paint. Just because it is just a case of very carefully removing 2 parts from the casting block.

CMK 1/72 USAF – Pilot 3

Pilot 3 looks a little bit more tricky to remove from his casting blocks. However, he does like very well detailed, and will look great next to any Korean War USAF aircraft.

I mentioned at the start of this post about my adding kits to my stash that relate to the air war in Korea. If you are interested in what other kits I have collected up to this point, this this post and this post will be helpful.
