Airfix 1/48 Gloster Meteor FR.9
My second 1/48 scale build is the Airfix 1/48 Gloster Meteor FR9. There are not too many parts to the kit, so it’s quite a nice build. My only issues I made notes of were:
- Ensure that at step 5, D43 is seated all the way in and is level.
- The belly tank was not flush-fitting to the fuselage at the front part.
- Make sure you select the correct canon for each side. They are not the same length.
- Seam lines needed some cleaning up.
- Wing fit is not quite perfect; a tiny bit of filler is needed.
I had read that some people had had issues with fitting the nose cone, but I think that was referring to the F.Mk.8 version. I had no issues with the fitting of the nose on the FR.9
Overall, I was quite pleased with the result. As always, things could have been better, but I feel that with all my builds!
